New Day provides new heating system for Seng Girls’ Home – November 2016

After tireless research and planning by New Day members Dan and Jane Chavasse, New Day and the Seng Home settled on a plan to install a sustainable heating system at the Home in Golog where winter temperatures can reach minus 40 degrees Celsius.  A grant of HK$55,000 was made to the Home in November.  The system involved placing insulation panels inside and outside the dormitories and classrooms (as seen in the photos below) and upgrading the boiler to power radiators throughout the rooms.  A positive side effect of the installation will also be a warmer laundry room where the girls can wash their clothes during the winter months.
